Ron Hicks

About The Speaker

Ron Hicks was born in La Jolla, San Diego, and educated locally before completing high school through homeschooling. With a background in private security and business, Ron went on to serve in the Missouri State House of Representatives, where he held key leadership roles as Chairman of the Special Committee on Homeland Security, Chairman of Regulatory Oversight and Reform, and Chairman of the Capitol Security Committee.

After retiring from politics in 2022, Ron transitioned into lobbying, with a passionate focus on criminal justice reform and the legalization of psychedelics for therapeutic use. His advocacy is deeply rooted in personal experience: on October 27, 2024, Ron underwent psilocybin-assisted therapy, an event that ignited a transformative healing journey and brought long-suppressed trauma and PTSD to the surface.

When his life began to unravel in April 2025, Ron reached a breaking point—but instead of ending it all, he chose to change everything. On May 18, 2025, he underwent Ibogaine treatment at Transcend Clinics in Cancun, Mexico. That experience marked a rebirth—a turning point that not only saved his life but gave it renewed purpose.

Today, Ron is dedicated to ensuring others have access to the same healing he found, advocating for compassionate, science-based psychedelic therapies and working to destigmatize mental health treatment through plant medicine.
