About The Speaker
K.L. “Kemmi” Sadler is a retired U.S. diplomat and federal law enforcement officer who served for more than 25 years in local and federal law enforcement, including two decades with the U.S. Department of State’s Diplomatic Security Service. Her assignments included work in Iraq, Afghanistan, Mexico, El Salvador, and Uganda.
She is the author of From the Badge to the Vine, a #1 Amazon bestseller chronicling her experiences with ayahuasca and the difficult work of examining the emotional armor that once helped her survive. In 2026 she walked the Camino de Santiago with her dog, Nona, carrying the names of 56 first responders lost to suicide, and founded Nona’s Way, a first-responder mental health awareness and storytelling project.
At the PSOTO Conference, Kemmi presents ‘From the Badge to the Vine: What I Found Beneath the Armor’ — an honest, experience-based look at identity, grief, and life after service.
